Step back in time this summer with the BID’s FREE History Trail and discover Caterham Valley like never before.
Whether you’re eight or eighty, exploring with your grandchildren, catching up with friends, looking for a family adventure, or wanting something different to do over the summer holidays, the Caterham Valley History Trail is the perfect way to spend a few hours together.
Running from 18th July to 31st August, this fun, interactive trail invites you to step back in time as you uncover the fascinating people, places and objects that have shaped our town. It’s a chance to explore Caterham Valley from a whole new perspective while discovering the local businesses that make it so special today.
In partnership with the East Surrey Museum, 20 fascinating artefacts from the local area have been hidden around town. From beautiful vintage jewellery to Victorian sewing machines, every stop reveals a piece of history waiting to be discovered.
Pick up your FREE trail sheet from either the East Surrey Museum, the Post Office or Caterham Valley Library. Follow the stars on the map to track down each artefact and uncover the stories behind them.
Once you’ve completed your trail sheet, simply return it to the East Surrey Museum, the Post Office, or Caterham Valley Library. Submit your completed trail sheet on or before 1st September and you’ll be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win vouchers to spend in Caterham Valley.
